Bill & Catherine's Helpful Tip:
Keep Your Sewing Machine in good shape:
How well your sewing machine lasts and performs has to do with 2 things. The first is did you begin with a reliable brand? The second is how you take care of it. The sewing machine needs three easy things from you;
Keep it clean: Before refilling a bobbin, use your small brush to clean out the bobbin case. This will remove lint and thread that builds up under the bobbin. After each project, take the throat plate off and remove the loose pieces like the bobbin and bobbin case. Brush or vacuum out the area. This will help reduce build-up of lint which could lead to improper stitching or more serious problems down the road.
Use it periodically: If you leave it sitting for long period of time without use, it may rust.
Have it cleaned/ maintained professionally:
You brush your teeth every day, but you still see the dentist once or twice/year because the dentist can do something that you cannot. Same idea when it comes to your machine. The sewing machine technician can clean areas that you cannot. Why spend lots of money on a machine and not maintain it properly?
If you begin with a good machine and maintain it nicely it will last and be ready to use when you need it.
We offer basic service on any make and model of machine for a flat $75. This is done on premise, we do not send machines to a third party for service! If your machine needs parts or more serious attention, we will let you know before the work is done.
If you purchase a machine from us the same service will only cost $60, and on our large machines the first service is FREE.
ELNA is the best machine on the market today and we have models in almost everyone's budget range. Just like our fabrics, we only sell the highest quality at affordable prices.
